Building a City through Aesthetic

 


設置理念

當一紅一橘路網,從南到北、由西至東就像打通任督二脈般地連接左營高鐵與小港機場後, 不僅串起了高雄,也連結到台灣其他城市,「公共藝術」的設置,讓它的每一座站體,成為城市美術館中的一個展示間,以藝術彰顯著在地故事,也使整個城市成為一座得以動力連結的大型美術館。

 

When the road network, adorned in shades of red and orange, connects from south to north, west to east, resembling the opening of the Ren Du Er Mai meridian and linking Zuoying High-Speed Rail Station to Xiaogang Airport, it not only weaves through Kaohsiung but also connects to other cities in Taiwan. The installation of public art turns each station into an exhibition space within the city’s art gallery, using art to vividly portray local stories and transforming the entire city into a large, dynamically connected art museum.

希望能提供一個停下來,安靜、優雅、容易、學習欣賞、觀美的介面。光的再生,重塑造停留駐足的雙重時間美學,帶來更深一層的土地所在意象層次,也呼應了此處保育護生的人文關懷。

 

Hope to provide an interface that invites pause, offering a tranquil, elegant, and easily accessible space for learning to appreciate and contemplate beauty. The regeneration of light reshapes the dual-time aesthetics of lingering and staying, bringing forth a deeper layer of imagery related to the land and resonating with the human care for conservation and preservation in this place.

玻璃紙勾化透明戲偶,360度地旋映現,在紙幕上忽遠忽近,彷彿古代宮燈,旋轉出無限的想像。

 

Translucent paper puppets on glass, spinning 360 degrees, projecting on the screen with an illusion of depth, reminiscent of ancient palace lanterns, creating boundless imagination.

鳳臨天下|Phoenix Reigns Over the World

 

 


創作理念

《鳳臨天下》以鳳鳥臨空翩然而下的意象,呼應了有關於鳳山地名由來的古老傳說。以不鏽鋼管做為主要的材質,正好和捷運站入口處所大量使用的不鏽鋼和玻璃材質相互呼應。簡潔流暢有如書法行草般有機又滑順的線條,帶入了東方特有的意境和情感,化解了金屬和玻璃建築原有的冰冷感。作品能和現場的旅客互動而產生此起彼落的沙鈴聲,就像是在與鳳互動和鳴共舞一般,拉近了民眾與藝術品之間的距離。「鳳臨天下」屬於立體作品,可有全方位不同角度觀賞的美感與呈現,入口動線所見到的是鳳鳥臨空翩然而下的意象,出口動線可領略鳳鳥盤旋遨遊的姿態,其漸漸貼近回家或出站的遊客,帶著吉祥與好運,指引回家的路。

 

“Phoenix Reigns Over the World” features the imagery of a phoenix gracefully descending from the sky, echoing the ancient legend about the origin of the place name “Fengshan.” The use of stainless steel tubing as the primary material harmonizes with the abundant use of stainless steel and glass materials at the entrance of the subway station. The artwork’s simple, smooth, organic, and fluid lines resemble the cursive calligraphy, introducing the unique Eastern aesthetics and emotions, mitigating the inherent coldness of metal and glass architecture. The piece interacts with passengers on-site, producing a rhythmic sound like tinkling bells, as if it is dancing and interacting with the phoenix, bridging the gap between the public and the artwork.
“Phoenix Reigns Over the World” is a three-dimensional artwork that offers a sense of beauty and presentation from various angles. At the entrance, you can see the imagery of the phoenix descending from the sky, while at the exit, you can appreciate the phoenix soaring and circling. As passengers gradually approach it on their way home or out of the station, it carries blessings and good fortune, guiding them on their journey home.

蒼穹光舞|Celestial Light Dance

 

 


創作理念

《蒼穹光舞》主旨為緬懷先民篳路藍縷,以溫暖的光點、華麗的色彩、明晰的圖像,呈現鳳山先民在土地上艱苦開拓的抒情史詩。以中央的「宇宙之愛」帶領,昂揚的生命樹如龍昇騰,蘊發永恆的奮進精神;由「天空」的花朵向兩側發展出「海洋」、「太陽」、「月亮」、「大地」四種力量中心,具有源頭意味的同心圓曼陀羅圖騰,支撐先民漁、獵、牧、耕,勞動型態的生活場景:群魚在海中嬉戲,動物在山麓河畔棲息,飛鳥與鹿在草原畜養,人們在田畝中耕作,並以海螺、獵人、山羊、稻穗為代表深植於人類集體意識的勞動意象。思想的光點構成記憶的符碼,情感的色彩塑造生命的氛圍,在崇高瑰麗的蒼穹下,千錘萬鑿的光舞,細說著先民篳路藍縷的精神與拓荒的故事。

 

The main theme of “Celestial Light Dance” can be translated to “Celestial Light Dance.” It serves as a tribute to the toilsome and pioneering history of the Fengshan ancestors. Through warm dots of light, splendid colors, and clear images, it portrays an epic and lyrical narrative of the hardships faced by the early settlers in the land.
At the center, the “Love of the Universe” leads, with the soaring Tree of Life representing the eternal spirit of progress. From the “Sky,” the development branches out to four central powers: “Ocean,” “Sun,” “Moon,” and “Earth,” forming a concentric mandala symbolizing origins. This supports scenes of labor-intensive lifestyles of the early settlers, including fishing, hunting, herding, and farming: schools of fish frolic in the sea, animals rest by rivers in the foothills, birds and deer are raised in the grasslands, and people work in the fields. Symbols like conch shells, hunters, goats, and rice stalks deeply rooted in the collective consciousness of humanity represent the concept of labor.
The points of thought form the symbols of memory, the colors of emotions shape the atmosphere of life. Under the sublime and magnificent celestial dome, the painstaking light dance narrates the spirit of the early settlers and their pioneering stories.
